System Requirements

What are the system requirements for using AMP?

Access to AMP requires an internet connection and an internet web browser configured to support and use SSL 3.0.

AMP was designed with primary support for Microsoft Internet Explorer, version 8.0 and above. Other browsers such as Firefox, Chrome and Safari may also work, but have not been tested as rigorously as Microsoft Internet Explorer.

System Functionality

Can I use AMP to access appointment information for other attorneys?

No. Within AMP, you may only access appointment and personal profile information that relates to you.

Why does AMP require me to provide face-to-face contact information for my criminal clients?

AMP was designed to ensure compliance with the standards and procedures set forth by the Travis County Criminal Courts as part of the Fair Defense Act Program. Those standards and procedures require appointed attorneys to make contact – in person or by videoconferencing – no later than five days of the assignment for misdemeanor appointments and no later than ten days of the assignment for felony appointments.

How does AMP calculate deadlines for the criminal contact required activities?

AMP calculates deadlines based on the standards and procedures set forth by the Travis County Criminal Courts as part of the Fair Defense Act Program. Based on those standards and procedures, court appointed attorneys must:

  • Make a reasonable effort (letter, fax, phone, videoconferencing or personal visit) to contact a defendant by the end of the first working day after the date of the appointment.
  • Acknowledge receipt of the appointment and provide confirmation of the effort to contact the defendant within 3 business days of receiving the appointment.
  • For misdemeanor cases, visit the defendant (in person or through videoconferencing) no later than five days from notification of appointment and report that contact within 3 business days.
  • For felony cases, visit the defendant (in person or through videoconferencing) no later than ten days from notification of appointment and report that contact within 3 business days.

Will AMP show me my non-appointed cases?

Yes. AMP will now show an attorney all cases where the attorney is listed (by state bar number) as the attorney of record.

Account / Password Management

How do I request an account to access AMP?

An attorney that is active on the Travis County Civil or Criminal Courts court appointment rotation list and does not have a AMP account can register for access by clicking the Register button on the Access Portal page or clicking https://www.traviscourtsapplications.org/courtsuserregistration On acceptance, an email with the AMP User Guide will be sent to the email address you provide.

How do I change the AMP password that was provided to me?

If you wish to change the password that was originally provided to you to something that is easier for you to remember, you may access the Travis County Password Self Service module at sspr.traviscountytx.gov In order to change your password, you will be required to setup a series of challenge questions. For security reasons, passwords must meet certain guidelines, which will be shown to you and checked off as you create your new password.

I have forgotten or lost my password. What do I do?

Please visit the Travis County Password Self Service module located at sspr.traviscountytx.gov, click the “Did you forget your password?” link, and follow the on-screen instructions.
